last day in Vienna

On our last day in Vienna, we woke up early to do a "walking tour" of sorts around the city - our friend who lives here recommended we do it because you pass all of the major civic buildings/museums/churches on the way. Here are some shots from the walk...

Next, we visited the Belvedere Palace...another Hapsburg palace build during the mid-18th century. It houses an incredible art collection now (more modern than the art history museum we went to on the first day).

This was a highlight - David's Napoleon Crossing the Alps

This guy was just really funny.

and then there was Klimt! Largest collection of Klimt paintings in the world lives here at the Belvedere.

An Austrian symbolist painter, Klimt lived from 1862-1918. Paintings from his "golden phase" are probably is most iconic. We got to see this one, The Kiss, along with a few others.

and then we went our separate ways, the girls to London and me to Prague!
